HISTORY

To confront the current socioeconomic crisis, our group of indigenous women was organized in 2001 to process and commercialize coffee. The purpose of our group is to improve the economic, social, and environmental situations and to preserve the biodiversity of the coffee plantations.

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION

We, the coffee group, are located in the indigenous community of Cuzalapa, municipality of Cuautitlán, in the southern part of the state of Jalisco. Our community is situated within the biosphere reserve near the sierra of Manantlán. Cuzalapa is characterized by its high level of economic marginalization.
